Aledo Angler's Club News
It's bass tournament fishing season and Aledo Anglers' Club is on a roll! Our Club has participated in two tournaments this month and Aledo Anglers' Club has place 2nd in both.
The March 7 tournament, organized by the Texas High School Bass Association, took place on Lake Lewisville where boats were launched with snow still on the ground.  Representing Aledo Anglers' Club were:  Garret Cutler/Wyatt Young, Jack McAdams/Carson McCone, Sam Sponsler/Garret Pruett, Weston Hudspeth/Reid Smith, Austin Smith/Ryan Walker, and Brandon Dominguez.  It was a tough bite for all---out of 95 boats registered only 18 boats weighed fish!  Two of those boats were sophomore Brandon Dominguez , and Jack McAdams (11th grade)/Carson McCone (10th grade).  Brandon placed 2nd and also won the Big Bass award with a 7.2 lb. large mouth.  Jack and Carson placed 16th.
On March 21, Aledo Anglers' Club took six teams to compete on Lake Ray Roberts: Austin Smith/Ryan Walker, Sam Sponsler/Garrett Pruett, Garret Cutler/Reid Smith, Weston Hudspeth/Harrison Vann, Jack McAdams/Carson McCone,  Wyatt Young/Ross Moncrief.  A 1st place bag totaling 17.21 lbs. was caught by Aledo's Wyatt Young/Ross Moncrief team.
Aledo Angler's Club placed 2nd overall again.

Purple Up! for Military Kids April 15!

April is the month of the Military Child, providing an opportunity to recognize and honor the service of our youngest heroes, military children. Help us turn Aledo ISD PURPLE on April 15 as we Purple Up! for Military Kids! Wearing purple is a very visible way to show support and thank military youth for their strength and sacrifices. Purple symbolizes all branches of the military, as it is the combination of Army green, Marine red, Coast Guard, Navy and Air Force blue. Be creative….the goal is for military youth to see they have our thanks and support!

Aledo ISD Bad-Weather Makeup Days

Aledo Independent School District has utilized two bad-weather days: Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 23-24. It additionally had one delayed-start day and one early-release day for weather-related conditions in February.
State law requires Texas school districts to make up two bad-weather days per school year. Aledo ISD has elected Friday, April 3, and Friday, June 5, as the two makeup days for the 2014-15 school year. The District will request waivers for any additional days needed.
